Week Two: Work - Nick

From Nick:
This is my first post onto the site but I'm glad to just be here. I don't consider myself an artist but I hate work as much as anyone so I did this piece.

It's in black ink with no color because that's what work does to your soul. From the beginning of slaves to the new slaves in the office, work is infinite in our culture.

Those cubicles are spot on.

You must have whipped out a National Geographic cause you've never worked in an office.

I've seen office space several times, the Pearl Jam video for Do The Evolution was the main influence. References abound. Wait until you see my childhood one.

I was part of a discussion sometime Thursday night about time as a thing that you can sell. When one works in the modern world, we literally sell our time (Hours, minutes) to a manager or company and are paid for it.
It's actually a terrible and frightening thing.

without work
you lose your flow with the earth
& you timing falters
then it snows in June.
